Tear Volume

Your body produces tear as a natural lubricant, cleansing agent, and protective measure for your eyes. Sometimes, the body simply doesn’t make enough tears to satisfy your eyes’ needs.

Tear Quality

Healthy tears have an oily film called meibum that floats on the tears’ surface, preventing them from evaporating. If tears don’t contain enough meibum, they evaporate from the surface of the eye too quickly, causing your eyes to feel dry and unprotected.

Here’s Why It Matters

Tears are crucial to your eye health. And while you may find it easy enough to ignore your dry eye symptoms, or just remedy them with artificial tears, the reality is that dry eye can be harmful to your eyes, possibly resulting in corneal abrasions, corneal ulcers, infections, and more.

The best way to fight dry eye and protect your eye health is with a proper diagnosis. At [Client Name], we can offer a complete diagnosis and treat the source of your dry eye, rather than just the symptoms.

Our Specialty Treatments

Intense Pulsed Light

Intense Pulsed Light (or IPL) treatments have long been used in dermatology to treat rosacea and similar issues but has recently become a popular course of treatment to remedy cases of dry eye. IPL uses repeated flashes of light to soften meibum, encouraging it to flow more freely. After the IPL treatment is complete, one of our doctors will likely express your meibomian glands to remove any blockages and restore healthy flow.

LipiFlow

LipiFlow is an in-office treatment that helps stimulate the flow and expression of meibum through the gentle application of heat and pressure. Specially-designed activators are applied to your eyelids, where they use heat to soften meibum. Then, through soft pulsing, the activators expel blockages from the meibomian gland.
